    Health and Sanitation

    In line with the objective of improving personal and community health and sanitation, various programs will be implemented with the active participation and partnership of the community. These include various health awareness campaigns and training, mobile health camps, toilet construction, safe drinking water system etc. These initiatives aim to significantly enhance the health status of the target community. As a result, the incidence of communicable diseases and the mortality rate are expected to decrease, along with a reduction in fatalities caused by lack of awareness.

    Education : School Support

    Every child has the right to education. To improve the quality of teaching and learning, efforts will focus on creating a child-friendly environment. Support includes improving school infrastructure, painting classrooms, distributing uniforms, constructing drinking water systems, and providing Early Childhood Development (ECD) kits. Trainings will be provided to teachers, School Management Committees (SMCs), and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), along with facilitation of school education development plans. These initiatives aim to enhance the learning environment, support regular student attendance, and improve student health. Ultimately, the combined efforts will contribute to better educational outcomes and a more supportive, inclusive school environment for all children.

    Socio-economic Development

    The majority of people in Nepal rely on agriculture for their livelihood, mainly due to unemployment, limited skills, and dependence on traditional farming methods. As a result, low productivity has contributed to declining economic conditions. In line with the organization's goal to improve community livelihoods, several programs have been introduced to address these challenges. Key interventions include agriculture and livestock training, skill development and vocational training, micro-enterprise development, value addition training, saving and credit practices in small groups and establishing/connecting group members to local institutions etc. These programs aim to boost local production and encourage commercial agriculture, ultimately contributing to improved economic status for economically disadvantaged communities.

    Local Capacity Development for Sustainable Development

    A self-reliant and sustainably developing community requires strong local leadership. To support this, capacity-building is essential. MCDS, with the goal of strengthening local community groups/organizations for sustainable development, implements various training programs. These include the training on group management & leadership development, bookkeeping, holistic development, proposal and report writing, and community capacity mapping workshops etc. These initiatives build the skills of community members and organizations, promoting ownership of programs and ensuring the sustainability of development activities.

    Environmental Protection

    Environmental pollution, largely caused by human activity, has led to various health issues. unplanned Infrastructure also contribute to environmental degradation and soil erosion. In line with the organization’s objective to promote environmental awareness and stewardship, key programs include environmental protection awareness campaigns and training, trail path construction with environmental considerations, tree plantation etc. These initiatives aim to minimize environmental impact, reduce erosion, and help maintain ecological balance while supporting community development.

    Disaster Risk Reduction, Relief and Recovery

    Inadequate knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness and response have led to significant losses during disasters. To address this, MCDS conducts awareness programs on disaster risk assessment, preparedness, and response, and delivers community-based disaster risk reduction and psycho-social counseling training for hazards such as floods, landslides, fires, and earthquakes etc. MCDS also engages in disaster response by distributing emergency relief items and providing immediate support to affected families. In the recovery phase, it supports infrastructure reconstruction, livelihood restoration, safe housing promotion. These integrated efforts aim to reduce future impacts and strengthen community resilience through preparedness, effective response, and sustainable recovery.
